The so-called „toolboxes“ explain the technology of the different 917 models.
The special exhibition „50 Years of Porsche 917 – Colours of Speed“ can be visited at the Porsche Museum from May 14th until September 15th.
This concept study transfers the design of the 917 into today’s era and is an homage to the Le Mans winner of 1970.
A model wind tunnel displays the aerodynamics of the Porsche 917.
The Porsche Design Beefer and the apron with the “Ping Pig” design are available at the Porsche Museum shop.
The first Porsche 917 was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show on 12 March 1969.
The Porsche 917-001 will be shown in the Porsche Museum for the first time in its original condition.
The name says it all: „50 Years of Porsche 917 – Colours of Speed” will show the brightness of all the 917 models.
Various exhibits represent the Porsche 917’s success in racing.
Driving the 917 KH with starting number 23, Hans Herrmann and Richard Attwood achieve the first overall victory for Porsche at the 24 hours of Le Mans.
Two 917 KH with the famous „Gulf“ colours, including starting number 20, started in Spa-Francorchamps in 1971.
The apron is inspired by the design of the 917/20 with the nickname „Pink Pig“.

The first test drive
The 911 (901 No. 57) is finally drivable again.
After three years of restoration the interieur appears brand new.
